Final Project: The Mechanical Component Catalog 

Objective: Select, measure, 3D model, and generate technical documentation for a unique mechanical machine component. 

Suggested Categories (Examples):

• Power Transmission: Spur Gear, Bevel Gear, V-Belt Pulley, Roller Chain Sprocket.

• Fasteners & Links: Specialized Clevis Pin, Turnbuckle, U-Bolt Assembly, Eye Bolt.

• Engine/Pump Parts: Piston Head, Connecting Rod, Impeller, Camshaft.

• Support/Housing: Pillow Block, Flange Bearing, Motor Mounting Bracket.

• Valves/Flow: Gate Valve Body, Ball Valve Handle, Pipe Flange Adapter.

Project Requirements 

1. 3D Modeling: Create the object as a 3D Solid (not meshes or surfaces) in Model Space using commands like EXTRUDE, REVOLVE, SWEEP, and LOFT.

2. The "VIEWBASE" Command: Use the VIEWBASE command in a Layout tab to generate the views automatically from the 3D model.

   1. The Quad: Must include Front, Top, Right Side, and a Conceptual/Shaded Isometric view.

3. Annotation: Add centerlines, center marks, and essential dimensions in Paper Space (Layout).

Submission Format 

• Physical Print: Use the Standard Title Block template A4.

• Visual Style: The Orthographic views must be Hidden Line style; the Isometric view must be Shaded with Visible Edges. 

• Deadline: May 19, 2026. The printed copies.
